![]() The last point is resale. If you want a truly one of a kind, made to your one and only specs, and no other like it in the world, then be absolutely sure you can live with them. If a true sonic difference is what you want, then solid shell or stave built custom drums made to specs that the big guys just can't do.is a different story. There are a few drum builders out there that do much more that hang hardware on Keller shells, with wacky finishes and custom(the afore mentioned 12x 7 3/4" toms shell ) sizes and call them unique. Is that visually (maybe) or sonicly.Well if I painted peace symbols on my 60's Ludwigs, they'd be unique. And if my grandmother had wheels she'd be a wagon too. I've seen guys swear that they can tell the difference between a 12x8 "and a 12x7 3/4" drum with the same shell material and heads.I'm calling BS on that. ![]() ![]() What do you think the sonic difference will be?Is it just a custom size,or finish? ![]() Exactly what is it that a custom drum can do for you that an off the shelf drum can't? ![]()
